Folasade May, MD, MPhil
Dr. May is a STAR fellow in the UCLA Digestive Disease Fellowship Program. While originally from Southern California, she moved to the east coast to pursue a B. A. in Biology at Yale University, and then overseas where she earned her Masters of Philosophy in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge, England. Fola went on to medical school at Harvard University and completed her training in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Her research interests include access to care, inequities in utilization of preventive services, colon cancer screening and surveillance, and patient education.
She continues to enjoy providing health care in health clinics in East Africa. She was awarded a T32 NIH GI Training Grant and is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Policy and Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
